Hi everyone! This recap will barely even capture all of what training camp was, but I’m going to do my best to share with you the most memorable moments! If I could describe the week of camp in one word, it would be that it was humbling. I had the blessing of being constantly poured into through sessions, worship, prayer times, and in being surrounded by people seeking more of Jesus (shout out team Agape)! I came into camp with nothing but the joy of the Lord and excitement for the trip to come, and I left with those things still, but so much more. I am overflowing with emotion and gratitude for what the Lord has done and what He has yet to do!

Our living situation for the week was definitely interesting to say the least. We camped out in tents in the woods, and halfway through the week we had to relocate because of the severe rain that flooded our tents (thank you Georgia). Our only bathrooms were porta potties (with over 50 people using them), and our showers were in a storage container or we had the option to do bucket showers!

Our Z squad got split up into teams for our ministry in Guatemala, with roles delegated in the teams as well. My team is Agape, which is a word that describes the highest form of love and sacrifice (God’s love), and we felt that it suited God’s vision for our team very well. We got to do a lot of team prayer and exercises, and by the end of the week we were already so close and so much fruit was bore! Our team loves each other so well and throughout this month we are continuing to learn how to steward our love and serve each other well! Below is a pic of my lovely team! We have Zachary, Will, Caroline, Kara, Abigail, Brynn, Becca, and me! Abigail is our treasurer and logistics girl, Brynn is our storyteller who’s keeping our social media and people back home updated, Kara is our amazing worship coordinator, and I’m our team lead!

One of the things the Lord really highlighted for me during camp was that surrender and sacrifice go hand in hand. I was very overwhelmed at times. I had to surrender my want of control to the Lord and that was a hard sacrifice to make. I also had to learn to not carry the weight of others on my shoulders, because Jesus is already standing next to me waiting for me to hand it to Him instead. Surrendering and sacrificing myself to God, dying to myself and leaning in on His servanthood truly transformed my mind.

“Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10

I could go on and on about how fruitful and transformative camp was, but if you take anything from this, let it be that His love truly does cast out fear, and He is waiting by your side for you to allow Him to move in you fully. I can’t wait to send out more updates on how the Lord is moving during this trip, I love you all!
